The Keurig Coffee Brewing system is really becoming quite a popular item. Who can blame it? A cup of coffee in 30 seconds without any hassle at all. Just drop a K-Cup in the holster, press the button, and wow! Coffee!
But before we get too excited about this, let’s do some math. Each K-Cup costs between 75 and 90 cents. The industry standard for a pound of coffee is a 40 cup yield, meaning that each pound of coffee will brew 40, 6 ounce cups. By using K-Cups, you are paying $30-36 per pound for your coffee. Coffee that was roasted when? Ground when? Been sitting in that little disposable plastic cup for how long (If you are willing to pay $30 per pound for coffee, we could supply you with the most exclusive coffees in the world!)? And let’s not even talk about the waste. Where do those little cups go? Yep, right into the landfill. By using your own coffee, you only add a few seconds to the morning ritual, you get excellent coffee, have the ability to grind it on site, and eliminate a lot of waste.
We chose to offer these reusable Keurig Coffee Baskets for several reasons. First, they sit flat on your counter, making filling them easy–3 teaspoons and you’re done. Second, they don’t require you to take apart your Keurig Coffee Brewer. They simply slide into the existing holster. And third, they work with Keurig, Breville, and Cuisanart K-Cup brewers.
